In Depth

Aratasaurus is a genus of Coelurosaurian theropod dinosaur that lived in South America during the early Cretaceous.‭ ‬The holotype individual of Aratasaurus is estimated to have been about four years old at the time of death,‭ ‬and only a juvenile or at most a sub adult.‭ ‬Older adults would have likely been larger,‭ ‬though by how much no one knows.‭

Aratasaurus is considered to have been similar‭ ‬to the dinosaur Zuolong from Asia. Further reading
