Classification: Chordata,‭ ‬Reptilia,‭ ‬Aetosauria,‭ ‬Stagonolepididae.
Species: P.‭ ‬aurelioi‭ (‬type‭)‬.
Diet: Herbivore.
Size: Unavailable due to lack of remains,‭ ‬as well as the possibility that these may be from a juvenile.
Known locations: Brazil‭ ‬-‭ ‬Santa Maria Formation.
Time period: Carnian/Norian of the Triassic.
Fossil representation: ‭P‬artial post cranial skeleton found in a semi-articulated state.‭ ‬Holotype individual possibly of a juvenile.

       Polesinesuchus is one of a growing number of aetosaur genera that are steadily being discovered from Triassic aged rock formations in South America.‭ ‬Polesinesuchus is a stagonolepid aetosaur,‭ ‬meaning that it was more similar to genera such as Stagonolepis.
